Ian Holloway
Head of Surveys
Ian commenced his insurance career with Crawford & Company in 2002, where he was responsible for overseeing a significant portion of the Contractor Managed Network. In this role, he developed a strong operational understanding of claims fulfilment, contractor performance, and network management within a large-scale insurance environment.
In 2007, he moved into loss adjusting with Royal & Sun Alliance, working as an internal loss adjuster and managing a varied portfolio of Mid and High-Net-Worth claims across the South East of England. This position provided extensive exposure to complex domestic losses, policy interpretation, and customer focused claim resolution, further strengthening his technical expertise.
Over the course of his career, Ian has built a broad experience spanning insurance surveying, reinstatement cost assessment, and fraud detection. His ability to combine technical knowledge with practical site experience has enabled him to deliver clear, defensible advice across a wide range of property types and risk profiles.
Ian joined Criterion Surveyors in June 2017 and has since undertaken surveys nationwide, working across a diverse portfolio of residential and specialist risks. In October 2025, he was appointed Head of Surveys, reflecting both his technical capability and his leadership within the business. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing survey operations, maintaining quality and consistency across outputs, and supporting the development of the wider survey team. He continues to maintain strong, long-standing relationships with clients, brokers, and insurers, and is committed to delivering a professional, responsive service while ensuring that advice remains clear, practical, and commercially aware.
