Simon Willsmer
Simon Willsmer commenced his Loss Adjusting career in 1980, at which time he dealt with a wide variety of household and commercial business. In 1988, Simon assisted in setting up a busy, London adjusting office where, in the main he dealt with commercial property and High Net Worth business, together with Fine Art losses, including handling the Phillips and Bonham's Auctioneers accounts.
Simon moved to join another firm of City based Loss Adjusters in 1991, where he continued to deal with High Net Worth, Fine Art and Antiques Claims, as well as Liability and Commercial property issues. Simon gained additional experience in these areas of adjusting during the course of the following eight years and he qualified as a full member of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters in 1999.
Five years ago, Simon was selected to manage a team within the Verification and Valuation department of the United Nations Compensation Commission, based in Geneva, Switzerland when he dealt with high value Claims submitted by individuals and businesses for personal and commercial property loss/damage arising following Iraq's invasion of Kuwait in 1990. Simon has also been providing technical advice and information when valuing high value items and artefacts as well as bloodstock for a Panel of Commissioners and their legal team.
After having renewed his contract with the United Nations on several occasions, Simon decided to return to the UK with his family.
In early 2003, Simon Willsmer joined Criterion Adjusters Ltd in order to provide additional support and experience, not only in existing areas, but also when handling Subsidence and larger commercial property claims, as well as Liability issues. This support and the further technical 'back-up' that Simon has provided will undoubtedly prove beneficial, not only to Criterion, but also to instructing Principals.
